Thunder Bay – Tuesday – First Full Day Of Fall

Got down there before sunrise this morning.

HMCS Margaret Brooke still hanging around

and there is the sun

Clouds moving in

Going to close off the overpass between the hours of 11pm to 6 am.  Why?  Because the local POSs continue to vandalize the thing.

Not the first time its been closed.  Hopefully, this tis time, the gates will be substantive and hard to bypass.

The vandalism is a problem that has been going on since the thing was first built.  What is the penalty for vandalism in Thunder Bay? Zero. Zilch.  Nada. Nothing.  There is no penalty.   So why stop?

I use it maybe once or twice a year just to see what condition its in and only if there is nobody in it. I found the overpass dangerous.

The City of Thunder Bay needs to stop the people from using it as a hangout.   Play loud, uncomfortable,  noise all day long.  Make hanging out in it undesirable.

Police foot patrols through the downtown cores.   Move the people along.

My recommendation is to just close it off permanently.  Weld the ends shut.  Cover the glass withy plywood.

Eventually, remove it.

Looks like the MV Radcliffe R. Latimer has got its engines going.  There was an engine room fire on it back in mid August.

Trash in context

Drilling holes in a brand new sidewalk in the north core.  Part of public art. Thunder Bay particles…

People drop off their household trash for pickup by park personnel.  Yes, I see it all the time.  Marina Park as well.
