Thunder Bay – Thursday

Another reusable shopping bag busy saving the planet.  Looks like this person drinks more than coffee.

I have.

You ever have one of those days where you get out of bed feeling just like this soccer ball looks?  I have spent many a Saturday feeling like this after a Friday night of intense socializing.

The insides of a gord of some sort.

You don’t see many of these laying around.

Dust suppression, probably calcium chloride, was applied to the gravel section of the road to the Pool 6 property and the cruiseship terminal.  Its good that the dust will be suppressed but it is still like walking on ball bearings.  Not very comfortable.

Still hanging around. No sign of the family yet.

Common Grackle.

This Redwing Blackbird was not happy with the crow being in its territory.

Lots of dive bombing and chatter.  The crow did not appear to be overly worried. I suspect this isn’t the crow’s first rodeo when it comes to dealing with Redwings.

For a bird this size, it is fearless.  Redwings will attack anything, any size if that bird/animal enters the Redwing’s territory.

Crows are nice looking birds.  When photographing birds, you need to get that glisten of light on the eye.

Makes them look alive

Water bottle photo. A full bottle.

This is a very popular sport.  Standing while paddling.  Can’t carry a lot of beaver pelts though.  That is why paddleboards never caught on with the voyageurs.

A blue rock.  Interesting.

Dandelions, the scourge of lawn owners, is very attractive flower.

Dandelions in your diet provide a lot of health benefits.  One of the big ones is Vitamin C.  We need Vitamin C and your body cannot create it.
