Thunder Bay – Wednesday

No wind this morning.  Partly cloudy. Nice reflections

The sun is back there somewhere

We got some colour. Low clouds over the lake keep the sun hidden

As good as it got

You can see where the sun is

You’ve heard of crop circles.  These are dirt circles.  Mysterious dirt circles found in Marina Park.  The headlines write themselves.

I call these ghost prints. Boot prints of passers-by frozen in time.  See what I did there? Frozen in time.   Get it?

The sun.

Trash in context. When I was an eating machine, even the wrapping paper was not safe.  I would have never left that much food behind.

This is how the City of Thunder Bay needs to design an build streets.  Design needs to make snow clearing as easy as possible.  If the sidewalk is located directly next to the driving lane, graders clearing snow can clear sidewalks as well as streets.  Saves time and money.

That would eliminate the stupid situations demonstrated here.  Street plows push snow onto sidewalks, Sidewalk plows push snow back onto streets. The sidewalk gets narrower and narrower over the winter until the sidewalk is only a trail where people must walk in single file.  This is not good enough.  Taxpayers expect better. I understand that pedestrians are at the bottom of the city’s transportation food chain.  That thinking needs to change,
