Is it a tourist attraction? Maybe with the right kind of marketing?
Our unhoused encampment. Maybe someone can explain to me just how allowing addicts and the mentally ill to sleep outside in tents helps either the addicts and/or mentally ill or the City of Thunder Bay?
The addicts are not getting help, the mentally ill are not getting help and the City of Thunder Bay is responsible for these people’s safety. The fact that the City of Thunder Bay is OK with this situation makes it legally responsible .
This situation should not be be tolerated. Tent encampments within the city limits must not be tolerated. Provide the people with a bed. Somewhere. If the people refuse the bed, then do not allow them to set up camp.
I am willing to bet that many, if not all of the ‘campers’ would refuse a bed at a shelter. Shelters have rules.
These are the people that are supposed to be able to live in an apartment? Take care of themselves?
Where did this ice fishing hut come from. Who paid for it? That’s a $700 ice fishing tent. I see three of them along McVicar Creek. Quite the setup.
