A clarification…
These manholes provide access to TbayTel infrastructure. TbayTel has their own group of contractors they deal with. Soo this work could not be included as part of the Court Street sewer and water line replacement contract. I am sure that the price of the work being dome for TbayTel reflects this exclusivity.
That brings us to this catchbasin. Turns out that there is a shutoff valve for the gas line there. The gas company has to come in and replace their shutoff valve. We await the gas company. Obviously, they are in no hurry.
Sooo neither of these could be included in the road contract. Could have got a good price for the work but that is not how things work in this city.
