Thunder Bay – Wednesday

Mistake-on-the-lake before sunrise

Some colour in the sky. Not a lot of clouds so I am not expecting anything spectacular. Still, its better than an overcast sky.

Water surface was not completely still but there was some reflections

Sunrise was getting close

and there it is

Its an OK sunrise.  Maybe 6 out of 10?

and so the day begins

I could not resist this shot. Turned out pretty good.

Looks nice in black and white

Trash in context.

Fine art photo

I liked the texture

Out for a paddle on a very nice day.

I like the patterns

Someone was drying a towel.

With Canadian lumber industry looking for more product opportunities, Thunder Bay may have an idea. Wooden windows.  Instead of glass, use wood.  Definitely thinking outside the box.

The first of three art installations being installed in the downtown north core.  Particles.

Thunder Bay has a very poor history when it comes to public art installations.   Marina Park is a prime example.

Who is on the committee that makes these decisions?

I do not think most people will even notice these ‘particles’.  They are small. I wonder how much we paid for each piece of art?

PS: from the tbnewatch.com article

....Each work was selected for its ability to reflect local identity and promote community inclusion….

Evidently, local identity and community inclusion does not include Caucasian males.  Apparently, Caucasian males do not exist until its time to pay taxes. Funny how that works.

I asked Adobe Firefly to create art pieces that involve shopping carts.  I feel that shopping carts reflect local identity.   They can be found abandoned in all corners of the community.

Might make a nice mural on the side of a building. Maybe the library.

Same here. Maybe a life sixed art piece using real shopping carts and painted boxes.  Maybe instead of boxes, they can be filled with empty Tim Hortons  ups, empty beer cans, empty liquor bottles and/or empty water bottles.

I like this one. The face can be anyone’s. Maye that Greta Thunberg.    A speaker could be playing a continuous loop of some of her more famous quotes.

What do you think?  $150, 000?  I know where to get the shopping carts.
