This is the point that I have been making for quite a while now. The unhoused/addicts/mentally ill Industrial Complex. We have many organizations, largely funded by governments, whose entire business model depends on the existence of unhoused/addicts/mentally ill people living out doors in public spaces. The staff of these organizations are paid. How much? We don’t know. We should know EXACTLY what their salaries are.
Not one more publicly funded nickel to any organization until their salaries are made public. You want public money, you tell us how much you make.
And then there are governments. How much are governments spending? Staffing? Funding outside organizations? What is the dollar total?
Then there is the construction of government funded “affordable” housing. Who owns it? What are the rules? Is there a time limit on how long the housing has to remain “affordable”? What exactly does “affordable” mean?
We know nothing. We should know everything. How much of the taxpayer funding is going towards helping the unhoused/addicted/mentally-ill and how much is going into the pockets of the organizations’ administrators?
