Thunder Bay – Monday

A clear sky this morning. Great if you are looking forward to a sunny day.  Not good for sunrise photos.

This photo pretty much sums up the sunrise today.  It looked like this until the sun finally showed up.

Some nice reflections. Not great reelections nut still pretty good. Long exposures smooth out the water surface.  Improves the scene.

Little change.  A touch brighter perhaps?

The sun is about to appear.

We have sunrise

and so the day begins.

The warm weather has given the grass and flowers a reprieve from the onslaught of fall.

Sigh… I suggest that you avoid the north core if you want to void having to drag an oxygen tank around with you in your senior years.

Our high salaried residents of City Hall do not care about the health and safety of the public when it comes to dust suppression in construction zones.  They never have.  They just don’t care.  Businesses?  They don’t care about them either.  How can you operate a business with a constant cloud of concrete dust being spewed into the air.  Laviche?  You can’t even get to the front door?  The bank? Forget about it.

Like I said, this total disregard for dust suppression has gone on forever.  Can the dust be minimized?  Yes. It involves water.  Might cost a few extra dollars.

Dust suppression needs to be addressed in the tender documents.  The City of Thunder Bay needs to lay out what it expects contractors to do as far as dust suppression goes including having the contractor and sub-contractors submit plans explaining what their dust suppression efforts will entail.  This is important in an urban environment.  That dust does not go away.  It lays around and is stirred up by wind and traffic.  Its a health hazard.  It needs to be suppressed.

If you intend to go down there, wear a respirator style mask and googles.  You do not want to inhale that dust or get it in tour eyes.
