One question: Why not fix the leak, you know patch it, and then tow the tug to the Lakehead Transportation Museum site? Its a boat after all. A couple of large cranes lift it into the water and out of the water. We have those cranes locally.
That can’t cost as much as the cost estimates of disposal. It was floating in the Kam River until the City of Thunder Bay removed the pumps. The City of Thunder Bay needed pumps elsewhere and as I have said many times before, the City of Thunder By is broke sooo they took the ones keeping the Whalen afloat. A kind of Sophie’s Choice situation. For the want of a pump….
The City of Thunder Bay is into this tug for closing in on $2 million. I can’t see flushing all that money down the drain and not getting anything for it.
