and replace it with what exactly? The OPP? The OPP would have to hire all of the officers presently serving in the Thunder Bay Police Force because the OPP does not have a spare police department just sitting around with nothing to do.
What kind of precedent would that set if a small group of people can have an entire police department disbanded? I don’t think we want to go there. You would no longer have a functioning police service.

As for the charges against the former police chief and the former police department’s lawyer, their trial has not yet begun. As of right now, they are not guilty of anything. Their guilt has not been proven in court. I am sure they are guilty of something but until they have had their day in court, they are still officially innocent and should be treated as so. They deserve the same presumption of innocence as anyone else.
If, after their trial, they are found guilty then throw in the prison for a decade or two. Until then, they are innocent.
