Thunder Bay – Thursday

I have photographed this storefront many times but that morning sun really makes that yellow pop.

This machine was supposed to replace the parking meters in the area. As you can see from the photo above, the meters are still in use and the machine is covered in plastic trash bags.  An expensive piece of equipment that is not being used.  Money for nothing…..

Rail car photos

Noticed the workers down at the “net carbon neutral”  construction site mounting a pair of these on a pair of those “net carbon neutral”  steel piles.  . Did I mention that there are 300 of those steel piles? Net carbon neutral construction requires a lot of steel.

I thought it was an inukshuk but it looks like it may also be a bird condo.

Here they are mounting the second.

This one has antlers.

Morning sky photo

Steel forest today.  No pile driving taking place at the time.  Are they finished?  I still see some piles that have not been driven into the ground.   Maybe the pile driver needs some TLC?

I guess we will see tomorrow.

Lifting up the frame.  Maybe more piles will be driven today after all.

Cabbage white butterfly

Wild raspberries.

Mallards

Wouldn’t fit in the can?  Is it recyclable?  Is it hand made?  So many unanswered questions.

Water bottle photo

Public art piece.  This one is all about the dangers of consumerism.  Warnings went unheeded.    Economic destruction.  A very strong piece that has a powerful message.  Makes you think.  We are sooo screwed.

Water bottle photo.

I love photos of welders.  They always look good.
