Thunder Bay – Friday – Back To The Grind

Squirrel!

My understanding of the Finlandia site is as follows. Developer owed contractor $200,000. Contractor sued developer. Contractor won.  Contractor can remove stuff from site in lieu of court award.   Will it ever get finished?  I doubt any contractor will work with the present developer.  Soo…..who knows?

What has changed over the past week?  Not this.

Nothing happening here either.  Now why is that?

Lots of money. Almost all of it taken from taxpayers.  Why are they not constructing?

This is new. A walkway to the Pool 6 site.

Left turn

New trail through the woods.  Mosquitos a plenty in there.

Right turn

Left turn ahead

Daylight at last.

and here we are.

Nice day

Cruise ship in port

Going to have some booths selling stuff

I wondered about using shipping containers creating a market area.  Turns out that our high salaried residents of City Hall want building permits for any shipping container market place.  Why?  The containers are not permanent. They can be removed easily.  The containers are very strong.  They are easily painted.  They are perfect for this situation.  You can see container market places in many Canadian cities including Toronto, Montreal, Calgary.  I have no idea why our City Hall is sooo anti-business.  Another reason why this city is teetering on the edge of Shitsville status.

Great blue heron.

Flowering crab

Not sure what plant this is
