Thunder Bay – Maybe Its Time To Focus On Hospitilization Numbers?

Seven new COVID-19 cases, 14 cases resolved

The COVID-19 caseload in the Thunder Bay district continues to trend downward.

The district health unit on Tuesday reported an active case count of 64, seven fewer than on Monday.

The daily caseload has been falling since its recent peak of 137 on Dec. 6.

TBDHU reported seven new cases as of Tuesday morning, with 14 previous cases being resolved.

All seven cases involve residents of the City of Thunder Bay or the immediate surrounding area.

Four are the result of close contact, while two have no known exposure source and one is still under investigation.

Case numbers will never be zero.  What is important is the hospitalization numbers.  The people who are in hospital BECAUSE of COVID-19.  Not people who are in hospital WITH COVID-19.  Lets have that number.

Continually broadcasting case numbers without providing any context is simply fear-mongering.  Straight and simple. What the public needs are facts.  Facts that people can use to make important health decisions. Making decisions out of fear and fear alone without facts and context seems to be what governments want.  Not really their job.
